Former Quiznos reopens

Owner of the former Quiznos, Allan Loeffler, has reopened as “Lettuce Eat” — a deli-type restaurant serving wraps, pitas, and flatbread sandwiches, as well as fresh soups and premium salads. While Loeffler waits for his new signs to arrive, he hopes to lure hungry customers in through word-of-mouth, and coupons that will appear in the upcoming January issue of The Kohler Villager.

Hours are from 10:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

I was excited to see a hard-to-find favorite of mine — Gyros. Allan made up his Classic Grecian Gyro flatbread featuring seasoned gyro meat, red onion, tomato, fresh cucumber and a cucumber Tzatzki sauce. The sandwich gets a “10″ from me. The freshness of the cucumber, onion and tomato really stood out, and the Gyro meat wasn’t too greasy (unlike those frozen store-bought gyro kits).
